Price Match Guarantee
- All Marine Corps Exchanges shall adhere to one standardized Price
Match Guarantee program. This program guarantees that the MCX shall match
any competitors current, locally advertised price on any identical item
sold by any MCX or any local competitor. It also includes a 14 day price
match guarantee on any item purchased from any Marine Corps Exchange and
subsequently sold at a lower price by a Marine Corps Exchange or a local
competitor. All signage and print media that promotes, advertises, or
represents the MCX Price Match Guarantee program will be standardized
accordingly.
- The Marine Corps Exchange "Price Match Guarantee" program will work as
follows:
- Marine Corps Exchange customers only need to bring in a current
advertisement from the local market area and request the same price as
the advertised item. Marine Corps Exchange will then meet the advertised
price. In addition, Marine Corps Exchange will give a price adjustment
for 14 days from the original purchase date for any item subsequently
sold at a lower price by the Marine Corps Exchange or any local
competitor. This would include any item in a Marine Corps flyer, local
Marine Corps sales promotion event, or any lower price advertised by a
local competitor.
- Double or triple coupons; clearance items; percent and dollar off
items; going out of business sales; Internet prices; and commissary
prices are excluded from the "Price Match Guarantee" program. Also
excluded are gasoline, special orders, alcohol, and tobacco.
- The new Exchange price will be exactly the same as the competitors'
price.
- Merchandise that has been price matched under the "Price Match
Guarantee" program may be placed on layaway*. If a customer has an item
on layaway that qualifies for a price reduction due to a competitor's
lower price or the 14 day price guarantee, reduce the price if the
customer makes the request.
- The MCX will match the pricing of the Exchange Mail Order Catalog
with the exception of those items purchased from overseas suppliers for
which custom charges are applied. Such items are annotated in the
Exchange Catalog.
- Items must be identical for the customer to receive the "Price Match
Guarantee" price. The merchandise must be the same brand, manufacturer,
and model number, identical to the item carried by the Marine Corps
Exchange. For softlines, an identical item doesn't have to be the same
size or color as long as it's the same brand and style. If you are
uncertain whether or not an item is identical, use common sense. Give
the customer the benefit of the doubt, ensuring the credibility of the
program.
- Local market area is defined as the geographic area shopped by local
Marine Corps Exchange customers, generally not beyond a 50 mile radius.
- Quantity Limitation. If a customer's ad includes the quantity a
customer can buy at a reduced price, the Marine Corps Exchange will
maintain the same quantity limitations when the "Price Match Guarantee"
pricing policy is used.
